JULIA COOK

Julia has been making jewellery since 1991, in the past selling her work through shops nationally & internationally. After training at Central St Martins Julia worked with some of Britains most talented jewellers, this period was of great benefit to her, adding to her traditionally taught technical skills. Her pieces have a look and feel of treasures from a far off gem-rich land. She strings necklaces of sparkling gems, Tourmalines, Spinels, Rubies, Diamonds, Chrysophrase, Labradorite, Amethyst, Coral, Turquoise and many more, interspersed with leaves of beaten silver, melted balls of gold, twists and curls. The exotic feel of her pieces come from her great skill in matching precious metals with unusual gems, her very strong feeling for colour and deft use of ancient techniques, such as forging in which the gold is beaten with hammers to twist, curve and flatten the metal.

Julia is the owner of Branch on the Park and undertakes all of the private commissions there, which is one of the biggest parts of the business.
